WW2 German Heer, Unteroffizier, Panzergrenadier 1944
This figure is based on an illustration by Malcolm Mcgregor from the book : The Armed Forces of World War II – figure number 295. His artwork has always been inspirational for me.
For my panzergrenadier, I opted for the splinter pattern smock and used camouflage netting instead of wiring for the helmet. Some of these interesting features are :-
- Heeres-Splittermuster Tarnhemd (Splinter Camouflage Smock)
- Helmet with camouflage netting
- Tunic with the Merit Award Ribbon showing
- Gewehr 43
- Hafthohlladung HHL3 - Magnetic hollow charge
- Modified/shrunken jack boots
- Painted Headsculpt and modified body
The details on my improvements are :-
-
Weathered Splinter Camouflage smock
-
Weathered and improved Heer Tunic
-
-
-
Improved ammunition Pouch
-
Improved, repainted and weathered magnetic mine
-
Modified and Improved Jack boots
-
Self created merit ribbon
-
Repainted and weathered gears – Cook Pot, Shovel, Bayonet & Canteen
-
Modified Body (slim)
-
-
Bendy hands with mittens
-
Display base with a German Crest Plaque

Hope you like this figure, cos it was really fun for me customizing it. Maybe next time with a hooded tan water smock?
